The city's great new tradition -- the Costa Mesa Community Run -- returned
for its second annual race April 18, and it was a great success. Read a report in the Daily Pilot: Friends and the finish line.
Last year more than 600 runners and walkers competed and helped raise more than $10,000 for foundations supporting Costa
Mesa's high and middle schools.
Money raised at the 2009 event will also benefit the Costa Mesa Community Foundation, which will support local elementary
schools through a grant program. This is a USTFA sanctioned event, both competitive and recreational runners are welcomed.
The fun continues with a Health and Community Fair in the stadium. 'Run for Fun' and support the Costa Mesa community and
its students. | |
